BeforeAfterDoc vs PreviewMD · Verified August 2026

A BeforeAfterDoc alternative built for surgery, not smiles.

BeforeAfterDoc embeds a preview widget on a clinic website and captures the lead, which is the same mechanism PreviewMD uses. The difference is the specialty: their product previews veneers, implants and whitening, and their site names no surgical procedure at all. PreviewMD previews surgical procedures on models fine-tuned with a practicing plastic surgeon.

BeforeAfterDoc

What is BeforeAfterDoc?

BeforeAfterDoc embeds an AI preview widget on a clinic’s website. A patient uploads a photo, sees a treatment preview, and their name, phone and email land in the clinic’s dashboard, with a webhook to a CRM on the middle tier and above.

The treatments are dental. Their own pages lead with veneers, implants and whitening, and describe the product as built for dental and cosmetic clinics. Read 19 August 2026.

What BeforeAfterDoc does well

They publish the whole price list at three tiers with the limits stated plainly, which is more than most of this category manages.

Video simulation output is included on every plan, and results reach the patient over WhatsApp under the clinic’s own name. Neither is something PreviewMD does.

Where BeforeAfterDoc falls short

No surgical coverage at all. Reading their site on 19 August 2026 we found no facelift, no breast augmentation, no rhinoplasty, and nothing describing surgical work.

Your patients’ contact details sit in their dashboard. Their published wording is “HIPAA-conscious practices”, which is not a claim of compliance, and we found no business associate agreement statement on the site.

What BeforeAfterDoc costs

BeforeAfterDoc publishes its full price list, which most of this category does not. Here is what they charge and what a plan includes.

First-party

Three published monthly plans: Starter at $49 (49 previews a month, up to 3 treatment options), Pro at $99 (99 previews, up to 10 options, webhook to your CRM) and Ultra at $1,499 (1,499 previews, unlimited options). Read on 19 August 2026.

First-party

Every tier carries a 3-day trial capped at 9 previews, and the trial takes a card on file before it starts. Every tier also includes video simulation output and delivery to the patient over WhatsApp under the clinic’s name. Read on 19 August 2026.

PreviewMD

What is PreviewMD?

PreviewMD is an AI preview widget built for surgical procedures. A patient uploads one front-facing photo on your website and sees a photorealistic, anatomically correct before and after of themselves in about three to four minutes. The facelift simulator, the rhinoplasty simulator and the others on the simulators page are each fine-tuned with a plastic surgeon in practice for more than thirty years.

It installs as one script tag under your branding, and the lead reaches your CRM before the patient sees the result. The photo is processed for that preview and never stored, and the contact details pass through to your systems rather than being held here.

The widget as a patient meets it on your site. Your branding, your domain, and the privacy answer stated up front. Elite removes the PreviewMD mark entirely.

What PreviewMD does well

The render is corrected by a surgeon rather than tuned to look impressive, separately for men and for women, and a procedure ships only once those corrections stop.

Nothing of the patient stays with us. No photo library, no lead database, and therefore nothing a business associate agreement would need to cover.

Where PreviewMD falls short

BeforeAfterDoc covers dental treatments and PreviewMD does not. No veneers, no implants, no whitening, and no video output on any plan. They are also cheaper by a wide margin at the entry tier. If your book is dental, they are the right product and we are not a substitute.

What PreviewMD costs

$249 per month for Starter with 150 previews included, $449 for Pro with 500, $999 for Elite with 1,200. Extra previews are a flat $1.00 each and the widget never shuts off mid-month. Annual billing is two months free. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial, card up front, cancel anytime. No setup fee, no per-patient fee, no hardware.

Which should your practice choose?

Choose BeforeAfterDoc if

Your practice is dental: veneers, implants, whitening.
$49 a month is the number that decides it.
You want video output as well as stills.
WhatsApp is how your patients actually communicate.

Choose PreviewMD if

Your revenue comes from surgery, not dentistry.
You want previews from a model a plastic surgeon corrected.
You would rather no third party held your patient leads.
You want your market closed to competitors contractually.

How switching from BeforeAfterDoc works

For a dental practice there is nothing to switch to here, and we would not try to sell you one. The two products cover different mouths and different operations.

For a practice doing both, run them side by side rather than choosing. They install the same way, one script tag each, and neither depends on the other.

Questions

The questions buyers ask.

Is PreviewMD a BeforeAfterDoc alternative?

Only if your practice is surgical. The two work the same way, but BeforeAfterDoc’s published treatments are dental (veneers, implants, whitening) and PreviewMD’s are surgical, fine-tuned with a practicing plastic surgeon. For a dental practice, PreviewMD is the wrong purchase and we would say so.

Which is cheaper?

BeforeAfterDoc, clearly. Their published plans run $49, $99 and $1,499 a month against PreviewMD’s $249 to $999. Read 19 August 2026. If price is the deciding factor and your treatments are dental, that is a straightforward answer.

Does BeforeAfterDoc cover plastic surgery?

Not per their own site as of 19 August 2026. Their materials describe dental and cosmetic clinics and name veneers, implants and whitening; we found no surgical procedures at all. If that changes, this page will be wrong until we re-check it, so read their site as well as ours.

Will BeforeAfterDoc sign a business associate agreement?

We do not know, and it is the question we would ask them before sending patient data. Their site describes a dashboard that holds your leads and syncs them to your CRM, which is a company handling patient contact details on your practice’s behalf. Their own wording is “HIPAA-conscious practices”, and we found no BAA statement anywhere on the site as of 19 August 2026. That is a question to put to them rather than an accusation from us, but it matters to you and not only to them: if you are a covered entity and a company handles protected health information for you without a BAA in place, the exposure is yours as well as theirs. PreviewMD’s answer is architectural, and it is on our privacy and security page: patient photos are never stored and lead details are passed to your systems rather than held here, so there is nothing for a BAA to cover.
